Delete a note
In the Notes app on your Mac, select the note that you want to delete. If you need to show the folder where the note is and the sidebar isn’t showing, click the Sidebar button .
Click the Delete button or press Delete (or use the Touch Bar). You can also swipe left on the note (in the list of notes) using two fingers on the trackpad (use one finger on a Magic Mouse), then click the Delete button .
What happens to my deleted notes?
If you delete a note that’s stored on your Mac, it’s moved to the Recently Deleted folder. You can view and restore notes in the Recently Deleted folder for up to 30 days.
If you use upgraded iCloud notes, deleted notes are moved to the Recently Deleted folder for that iCloud account, on all devices that use the same account. After that time, notes are permanently deleted from all your devices (and that may take up to 40 days).
Tip: To permanently delete a note immediately, delete or replace all of its contents. Since the note is synced to all of your devices, doing this effectively deletes the note right away.

Rename or move a folder

Rename a folder: Control-click the folder, then choose Rename Folder.
You can also click the More button next to the folder in the sidebar, then choose Rename Folder.
Place a folder inside another folder: Drag the folder on top of the other folder.
Move a folder out from inside another folder: Drag the folder to the location you want.
If you move a folder to the “All [account]” folder, the folder appears in the list sorted in alphabetical order.
Note: Use caution when moving a folder in to or out from a shared folder. Doing so may affect who can read and edit the notes within the folder. See Add people to notes and folders.
Delete a folder
In the Notes app on your Mac, select the folder in the sidebar.
Click the Delete button or press Delete (or use the Touch Bar).
